Fall is in the Air

Hello Fall image Laure Paillex Art and Design blog post 2019September has arrived with its promise of cooler weather, colorful autumn hues, and all the delights of the fall season!

It's time to get back to school for the kids, and back to art and painting classes for the young at heart!  Here in the Cape Cod and southern New England area there are so many exciting local and regional arts and crafts events being offered, it's a challenge to choose among them.  I'm sure it's the same in your neck of the woods, too - harvest fests, arts and crafts fairs, vintage and antique shows, gallery openings, walking tours, and don

Summer is for Painting

Laure Paillex acrylic painting class at ECHO wareham MATuesday, June 4th was the first day of our Summer 2019 Painting Classes at ECHO in Wareham, MA.  I'm delighted that both the morning and afternoon classes were filled with happy, enthusiastic painters who worked on projects that included mermaid ornaments, personalized local village signboards, a small furniture piece and a vintage picnic basket!  Every one took time to browse the gift shop to appreciate the handmade works of other local artists on display.  Inspiration was everywhere!

We Have a New Home

I've been having this recurring dream lately: I'm in the studio setting up for class and everyone begins to arrive - but I'm not ready! The tables are missing, the lights won't go on... and then the floor disappears and turns to dirt... But everyone keeps on painting and asking questions and needing help and wanting coffee an cake!

3/26 Wednesday Evening Class Cancelled

Let's hope this is the last Nor'easter of the winter!  Although here on the bay the storm brought little snow, the freezing temps and high winds would make for a very unpleasant nighttime drive.  So, once again, no painting class tonight.

Stay in and keep warm.

The Girl Who Had No Charm

Do you ever wish you could spend an entire weekend playing with all your art stuff - paints, brushes, tools, papers, scissors, stamps, beads - whatever!  No interruptions, no expectations, no demands.  Just you and your adventurous spirit of imagination.  Well, last weekend's snowy, icy, sleeting "blizzard" blessed me with just such an opportunity - a chunk of time to

Another Wet and Wild Wednesday

Another Wednesday Eve painting class cancelled.

Here on the bay we seem to have been spared the worst of the snowfall - unlike our friends to the north up Boston way - but now it's turned to rain with the promise of falling temperatures this evening.  Ah, yes, New England weather!
