The focus of this lesson is to use simple SHAPES and value CONTRAST to create small paintings with BIG IMPACT. We will sketch several beach scenes using basic lines and shapes within the paper format/size of your choice, and then set the mood with a selection of jewel-toned watercolors. Expect to complete several small paintings that can be displayed individually, as a collection, or together in a mat with multiple openings. Get in the mood for a day on the dunes of Cape Cod!
In this lesson we'll work on building contrasts to give depth to the elements in our painting. The original paintings are sized to fit under a 5 x 7 inch mat with an 4 x 6 inch opening, but you can elect to choose your own paper size. A handy sizing chart is included in the Class Info File.
Our live online lessons are hosted on Zoom. These 2-hour classes include a full-color, printable (.pdf) E-packet containing complete step-by-step instructions, a pattern template, plus a BONUS link to the lesson video following the class. Let's paint together soon!
