"I'll be with you in apple blossom time"...  Pretty in pink is the color palette!  Work from a wet and loose background base and finish with a few sharp details at the flower centers. You'll practice identifying negative spaces and reserving white spaces.  If you feel anxious about approaching the larger composition, you can isolate and paint just a portion of the whole (the lower flower, branch, and buds, for instance).  This lovely painting is ideal for framing, and portions of the design can be extracted for painting on greeting cards, bookmarks, or tags.

"Blossom Time" is painted in watercolor on 140 lb. Cold Press paper (sized 9 in. x 12 in.).  You may re-size the pattern to fit within the mat opening and frame size of your choice. It calls for a color palette using warm and cool versions of the primary hues (Yellow Medium, Permanent Rose and Permanent Red, Cerulean Blue and Ultramarine Blue) plus Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna for toning. The generous 16-page e-packet contains a complete supplies list, step-by-step instructions, and progress photos, as well as lots of painting tips to help you improve your watercolor painting skills.

Please note: There are TWO (2) .pdf files for this project - the "Blossom Time" Lookbook (E-packet) and a separate pattern file.  Be sure to download both!
