"Lilac Cottages"
Spring temperatures have finally arrived here on the Cape; today is sunny and warm at last! The fragrant lilacs are just starting to bloom, and soon the air will be filled with their sweet perfume.
This lesson includes 2 individual patterns, each quaint cottage is surrounded by blooming lilac bushes. These scenes allow you to explore the cool range of hues on the color wheel: rose red, red/violet, purples, and cool blues. The paintings also feature the aspects of lost edges and atmospheric perspective. Although I created the original art on size 5" x 7" paper to mat and frame as an 8" x 10" set, you can certainly scale the drawings to any mat and frame size you wish.
